Early at about 7am on Monday January 2015 ,student from the okorikperhe hostel matched into the school compound and went straight to the school hostel(boys).
Although,they were few in number about 8 of them but when they came out from the school hostel the number increased and they trooped to the administrative building. They were led by the SUG vice president,Mr valentine and other SUG executives with the aim of stopping the registration for the fresh student and submitting the letter of ultimatum(That the school fees should return back to normal) which needs a quick response before 10am or else the protest will carry on.By number the number was ranging from 30-40 all boys.
When they got to the admin. building they stopped the screening exercise that was about to kick off already.Now the first objective has been completed,now the student waited for the letter to be printed and submitted to the school management. At about past 8am,the SUG secretary general prepared the letter and submitted it to the school management.So the student returned back the lecture Theater 1(LT1) both the fresh and the old student.The school management called for a meeting with the SUG ex-cos about an hour later.The school called for 2Army vans which where at the front of the admin. block and later left for patrol some minutes later.
This meeting took long and the student became bitter and decided to put the lights off for a quick response.Then the school mopol had to stand close to the power box and pleaded with the student and ask for about 20mins more. By now its few minutes past 10am ,and the student are in rage.The security and mopol pleaded for more time and they were granted by the student.Soon after when the SUG president Mr victor is out,he asked for a meeting with the student at LT1 ,but some student refused but later agreed.He said the outcome of the meeting was that the school management is not willing to bring the fees back to normal.At first the Sug president convinced the student not to protest but they disagreed with his suggestion.There is a saying "IF YOU CANT BEAT EM ,JOIN EM" Now the Sug president approved the protest.The student ran down to the admin. building,shouting and yelling to get attention,some top staff came out and talked but the student kept on replying "WHO YOU HELP" "THAT ONE NAH TALK?"
DBS(Delta Broadcasting television) came around and had a talk with the management and they left immediately and the student hardly notice their departure because the Sug vice president Mr valentine tore a bill that a student was holding and they turned against him.This little disagreement made the student lost their first chance of getting to the press but it was said that the school mgt. bribed DBS to leave the school premises At this moment the student are already losing hope and trust on the SUG executives,so by 11am Mr DAMISA whos the acting VC came out to address the students.
He started rudely and ended abusively. He said "THE FEES HAS ALREADY BEEN IMPOSE AND THERE IS NOTHING ANYBODY CAN DO ABOUT IT" he later ended it by saying "YOU STUDENT ARE THE MOST MISERABLE STUDENT I HAVE EVER SEEN" check out"FUPRE ON FIRE" phrase 2 for the student reaction to this comment CLIMAX DOMAIN
